Breaking Parts On E-Bikes Create Crash Dangers, Prompting Nationwide Recall Thousands of electric bicycles sold across the US are being recalled because a part could break while riding, causing crashes. Giant Bicycle issued the recall for about 6,200 Momentum Vida E+ e-bikes, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, July 10. The recall comes after four reports of broken fork steerer tubes, although no injuries have been reported. The e-bikes were sold from September 2019 through May 2025. They were available at authorized Giant dealers nationwide and online for $2,500 to $3,200, according to the CPSC. 18-Year-Old Missing After Attending Soccer Game: West Orange Police An 18-year-old West Orange teenager has been reported missing, authorities said. Gideon Akwei was last seen at his residence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 after attending a West Orange High School soccer game, West Orange police said. The next morning,  his parents checked on him and noticed he was not in his bedroom, police said. Akwei is approximately 5'6", weighs 165 lbs. and was last seen wearing a black sweat suit and black sneakers, police said. He uses a black mountain bike as a mode of transportation.
