A dramatic bus fire shut down part of a busy Putnam County roadway Monday morning, Sept. 8, but everyone inside escaped without injury, firefighters said. The blaze broke out around 10:30 a.m. on Route 9D near Route 403 and Lower Station Road in Philipstown, according to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. A motor coach bus carrying nearly 40 passengers caught fire after crashing into the center divider on Route 17 south near the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus on Wednesday, June 11, police said. Three tour buses caught fire in Lehigh County late on Sunday, Sept. 24, officials said. The blaze happened on the 4900 block of Raymond Court in Upper Milford around 11 p.m., the Vera Cruz Fire Department confirmed to Daily Voice. No injuries were reported, they said. Police are searching for four people who are accused of setting fire to buses in the parking lot of a Long Island mall. Four suspects set fire to two buses in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream at about 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, the Nassau County Police Department reported on Monday, Aug. 22. The blaze spread to and destroyed an additional bus, police said. A fire engulfed seven NJ Transit buses in North Bergen Wednesday, April 20, reports say. The buses were sitting in a parking lot at 18th Street and Tonnelle Avenue sometime before 5 p.m. The fire caused serious delays along Tonnelle Avenue. The cause was under investigation.

Bus Carrying Inmates Becomes Engulfed In Flames In Hudson Valley
Screams filled the air as a bus carrying prisoners between correction facilities caught fire while traveling in the area. The crash took place around 7:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27 in Dutchess County on Route 9D by the overpass in Fishkill, said the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
