With Macy’s Center City store set to close its doors on Sunday, March 23, music lovers have one final opportunity to experience the majestic sound of the Wanamaker Organ — America’s premier pipe organ — in the Grand Court of the historic Wanamaker Building.
On Saturday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Wanamaker Organ will be played live every hour on the hour during a day-long series of farewell concerts, culminating in a Grand Gala performance to celebrate the iconic instrument’s enduring legacy.

Danny Bacher, a renowned jazz musician and Cliffside Park resident, died at the age of 48, the Jazz Loft in Stony Brook announced. The cause was a heart attack, the Jazz Loft said.
A native of Wayne, Bacher was a singer, saxophonist, dancer and composer, who was also an author- having recently published a book about his collection of Laurel and Hardy merchandise, the Jazz Loft said.
A graduate of Wayne Hills High School, Bacher attended New Jersey City University, according to his Facebook. At the time of his death, he was working on a project about Harry Nilsson, the Jazz Loft said.

Tammy Tobitsch, a New Providence resident, died of breast cancer at the age of 47 on Friday, Sept. 29 according to her obituary.
A native of Summit, Tobitsch graduated from Summit High School and developed her love for the outdoors at the Frost Valley YMCA in the Catskills.

Now, the Westchester County educator and musician’s loved ones must rely on the many video recordings of her performances if they hope to again experience her bright, angelic singing voice.
Molloy, of Rye, died at home Monday, Aug. 1, at the age of 62 following a “long and courageous battle with lung cancer,” according to her obituary.
