At 8:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a garage fire in the 100 block of Willow Avenue, Franklin Township police said. While firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, the home was deemed uninhabitable, police said.
A Good Samaritan assisted in removing a dog, though they suffered a minor bite wound on their finger, police said. The dog was safely removed from the residence, although one cat was found deceased and another is unaccounted for, police said.

A Maryland woman is recovering after a heroic dog helped her escape a burning camper trailer blaze, according to the State Fire Marshal.
The fire broke out around 2:18 p.m. Friday, April 11, inside a Sunline Solaris camper on Dogwood Court in Millington.
At the time, the owner and only occupant was asleep, officials said, when an electrical failure inside the trailer sparked the blaze.

70+ Dead Animals Found Inside Vacant Old Saybrook Home
More than 70 dead animals were found inside a vacant Connecticut home on Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, according to authorities.
Authorities said they found the animals inside a home on River Street in Old Saybrook. A call to Old Saybrook police was not immediately returned.
