A man accused of assaulting a crossing guard in Delaware County has been arrested following a multi-agency investigation, authorities said. Rashiem Russell, 29, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody in connection with the March 16 assault in South Carolina, Darby police announced Friday, March 20. A suspect is behind bars after allegedly assaulting a crossing guard outside a Long Island elementary school. The incident happened in Hewlett, near Broadway and Stevenson Avenue, at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23.
