New Series Filming Upcoming Season In Sparkill: Here's When, Where Scenes for an upcoming television series are set to be filmed in parts of Rockland County later this month.  The shoot is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and will take place in Sparkill, according to the Town of Orangetown.  Carmel Reilly, Orangetown’s Director of Economic Development and Tourism, said the production is “a new series, in its second season.” She added she preferred not to identify the show to avoid disruptions.  Filming will center around Depot Square, with most scenes taking place at Noble Café, The Grape D’Vine, and Paulding Place.…

Gunman Robs Wells Fargo In Elmwood Park, Assaults Employee, Prosecutor Says A masked man with a handgun robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Elmwood Park on Thursday morning, July 3, before assaulting an employee and fleeing with cash, authorities said. The robbery occurred around 9:19 a.m. at the bank located at 115 Broadway, according to Deputy Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. Elmwood Park police officers arrived on scene shortly after and confirmed the robbery. The suspect had already fled. One bank employee suffered a minor injury, police said. A large manhunt followed. House Fire Causes Road Closure In Mahopac A house fire has closed a stretch of road to traffic in Putnam County.  Hill Street in Mahopac between Bullethole Road and Hitchcock Hill Road is closed as firefighters battle a house fire in the area, Carmel Police announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at around 3:30 p.m.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use detours.  More information about the fire has not yet been released. Weeks Of Southern State Parkway Closures Planned In Babylon Weeks of scheduled closures on Southern State Parkway could spell delays for drivers. In Babylon, the westbound Southern State Parkway will be closed between exit 39 and exit 32 weeknights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 14. The closures will last approximately five weeks to facilitate a pavement resurfacing project, the New York State Department of Transportation said. 1K+ Gallons Of Milk Spills From Tanker In Rollover Crash: Quarryville FD A tanker truck carrying milk overturned in Quarryville on Monday, July 15, authorities explained.  The crash happened in the 1100 block of May Post Office Road near Springville Road in Eden Township around 4 p.m., dispatchers and the Quarryville Fire Department explained.  The tanker was carrying 1,000 gallons of milk when it overturned, QFD officials said. May Post Office Road is closed between Springville and Stony Hill roads.  There are detours set up, the QFD concluded.
