Cold Case Solved: CT Man Guilty Of Kidnapping, Killing Store Owner 15 Years Later
A Connecticut man has been convicted of a kidnapping and fatal shooting outside a Hartford business more than 15 years after the crime, authorities announced.
Shawn Milner, 35, of Hartford, was found guilty on Jan. 29 of two counts of felony murder and one count of first-degree kidnapping, Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin said. Milner was accused of killing Waqas “Victor” Rehman, 42, of Farmington, in Hartford in 2010.
Rehman owned The Smoker’s Stop on Barbour Street in Hartford.

DNA and fingerprints dating back to 1996 and 2003 have led to an arrest in two sexual assault cases, authorities said.
Brian Lee Avis, 59, has been indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury for the sexual assaults of a 10-year-old Brigantine girl in 1996, and a 5-year-old girl in Galloway Township in 2003, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said,
