A longtime New York State Police sergeant was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Taconic State Parkway in Dutchess County, police said. The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, near mile marker 36.1 southbound in East Fishkill, according to New York State Police. A Long Island motorcyclist was seriously injured after being thrown from his bike in a crash with a car, Suffolk County Police announced on Sunday, July 20. Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Franklin Twp Crash: Police
A 45-year-old Somerset man was critically injured following a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle Saturday night, June 21, authorities said. At 10:41 p.m., a 2022 Ducati V4 motorcycle was traveling southbound on Cedar Grove Lane toward Pierce Street when he it crashed into a 2008 Lexus, Franklin Township police said. The rider sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, police said. The occupants of the Lexus were not seriously injured, police said. Hunterdon County native and former Frenchtown firefighter John Franks died Nov. 24 at the age of 39. Born in Raritan Township, Franks graduated from Delaware Valley Regional High School, his obituary says.
