A New York man has admitted to knocking out another man’s teeth in a jailhouse assault after he was locked up for weapons possession, authorities said Friday, May 8.
Jahsiah Daniels, 26, pleaded guilty Friday to the first-degree attempted assault charge and the second-degree weapons possession charge he was initially facing, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Daniels was first locked up for walking into a convenience store on New Scotland Avenue on Feb. 18, 2025, with a Glock 43X 9mm handgun loaded with 11 rounds, according to prosecutors.

Man Stole $40K In Jewelry, Electronics From Walmart Stores In Suffolk County, Police Say
A 34-year-old man is facing grand larceny charges after police said he stole more than $40,000 worth of jewelry and electronics from Walmart stores on Long Island.
Jonathan Sunderland, of Hempstead, is accused of using a specialized tool to open locked display cases at the stores, the Suffolk County Police Department reported.
He was identified by investigators and arrested at about 12:10 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at the Morris County Jail in New Jersey, where he was being held on similar charges from the Boonton Township Police Department, police said.

Woman Arrested For Burglaries That Included $30K Theft Of Jewelry, Electronics, Wilton PD Says
A woman wanted in connection with two residential burglaries in Fairfield County that included $30,000 in jewelry and electronics being stolen, has been arrested.
Gabrielle Wallen, 36, of Orange, Connecticut, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 3, in connection with the theft that took place on June 16, 2019 in Wilton, police said.
Both burglaries took place on Horseshoe Road and Old Huckleberry Road, Wilton Police said.
The Horseshoe Road theft included the $30,000 theft of jewelry, electronics, and other items, police said.
