K9 Named For Fire Marshal From Westchester Who Died On 9/11 Named 'Top Dog'
An FDNY fire dog named for a former Fire Marshal from the Hudson Valley who made the “supreme sacrifice,” on Sept. 11, 2001, is making a name for himself. FDNY K9 Bucca - named after Tuckahoe resident Ronald P. Bucca, a 23-year veteran of the FDNY - and his handler, Fire Marshal Joseph DiGiacomo, were awarded the honor of Top Dog in the category of Accelerant Detection at last week’s United States Police Canine Association’s 2019 National Detector Dog Trials in Albany. New Fire Marshal Named In Danbury
Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton has officially named a new Fire Marshal for the city. Deputy Fire Marshal Terence Timan was promoted to the Fire Marshal position Thursday, March 7. He has been with the department since July of 2004, when he was hired as a firefighter and was promoted to Deputy Fire Marshal in January 2016. Fire At Three-Story Norwalk Home Displaces 10
A fire at a three-story Norwalk home left 10 people homeless when the structure was gutted by smoke and fire. The fire started around 11:56 a.m. Saturday at 34 Kossuth St., said Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Stephen Shay. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found fire showing on the second and third floors, he said.
