The New Jersey-based employers were just named to Fortune’s 2025 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, a nationwide honor powered by employee feedback, workplace perks, and overall vibe.
Merck (Rahway) came in at No. 68, followed by Hackensack Meridian Health (Edison) at No. 72, and Atlantic Health System (Morristown) at No. 83. The list, compiled by Fortune and Great Place To Work®, celebrates companies that go above and beyond to keep employees happy, connected, and supported.

Virginia Community Ranked Third 'Best Place To Live For Families' New Fortune Report Finds

It's no secret to Fairfax County residents, but Fortune made it official, naming Chantilly the third "best place to live for families" in a newly released ranking, citing it as "a serene escape" from the DC craziness.
Researchers cited Chantilly's proximity to the city (24 miles), as well as Dulles International Airport, which is approximately seven miles away and is "convenient for family vacations."

Two cities, one in Maryland and the other in northern Virginia, were ranked above the rest in terms of schools, amenities, jobs, and more, according to a report from Fortune.
The report evaluated nearly 1,900 municipalities with around 20,000 residents across all 50 states, and focused on five data points: education, aging resources, general wellness, financial health, and livability.
