Hiker Suffering Medical Emergency Rescued From Popular Maryland Trail A hiker on on a popular Montgomery County trail was rescued after suffering a medical emergency, authorities say. The hiker's friend called police saying the victim was suffering from what appeared to be heat stroke on the Billy Goat Trail near Old Angler's, around 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, according to Montgomery County Officials.  The victim had been hiking for around five hours in 90 degree temperatures before the medical emergency. They were then transported by boat to a staging area near the trail to receive treatment by medical personnel.
