Maurer used the internet to view, download, or possess nearly 1,000 digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said following a court-authorized search of his home. Maurer was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 20 in Phillipsburg and subsequently lodged in the Bergen County Jail.
