A 20-year-old Queens man was arrested and charged with impersonating an FTC agent, making off with $63,000 in Township of Hamilton, authorities announced Wednesday, March 18.
On Saturday, March 14, Gurpreet Singh contacted a 55-year-old Mays Landing man and falsely identified himself as an agent with the Federal Trade Commission, Township of Hamilton police said. When Singh arrived at a location to collect money, he displayed a badge and said he was an undercover agent, police said. Multiple shoplifters are at large after stealing items from a Lululemon in Hoboken on eight different incidents this year, authorities said.
The shopliftings occurred between Friday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Nov. 26, Hoboken police said. Each time, the shoplifters entered the store at 313 Washington St., took multiple items, and left without paying, police said.
The thieves made off with more than $39,000 in merchandise, police said.

A man was nabbed by police in Fairfield County after allegedly stealing $4,628 of clothes from a popular store.
The incident occurred in Greenwich on Saturday, July 20, at Lululemon on Greenwich Ave.
According to Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police, Humberto Vega-Santiago, age 42, of the Bronx, New York, was apprehended by officers after he returned to the clothing store to commit another shoplifting act.
