A downed power line sparked a fire near a swim club in Bergen County on Wednesday evening, May 6. Emergency crews were called to Trotta Drive just before 6 p.m. May 6 for reports of an arcing wire near the swim club entrance, according to the New Milford Volunteer Fire Department. A department chief who was nearby at a baseball game arrived first and found a primary wire down in a wooded area that was actively burning, officials said.
