Bruce D. Laughton, a Bergen County dad, high school coach, and longtime Ramapo College employee, died peacefully, surrounded by family on June 11, according to his obituary from Becker Funeral Home. He was 54 years old.
Laughton grew up in Park Ridge and later raised his children, Elena and Colby, in Westwood. New Haven Woman Charged In Shooting Death Of Grandfather Days After Milestone
A 36-year-old Connecticut woman has been charged with killing a 57-year-old grandfather in a violent attack late last year, authorities said.
Eileen Marrero, of New Haven, was arrested Tuesday, April 29, and charged with manslaughter, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit, New Haven police said.
Police were called to a home on Walnut Street near East in New Haven around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2024, to reports of a man being shot. They found Marrero hyperventilating outside the house, police said.

NJ Murder Victim April Duncza Remembered As Professional With 'Creative Brilliance'
April Duncza, the 39-year-old New Jersey woman believed killed by her ex-boyfriend is being remembered for her creative brilliance and professional success.
Duncza, a Nebraska native, was found during a welfare check at a home on Paul Street in the Fords section of Woodbridge with serious head trauma around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
She was later pronounced dead and her ex-boyfriend, Kevin Bacon, 46, of Keanesburg, has been charged with murder, Ciccone previously announced.
