Dozens of thrill-seekers got more than they bargained for after a ride malfunction left them stranded in the air at Six Flags America in Maryland. Prince George’s County Fire/EMS said technical rescue crews were called to the 13700 block of Central Avenue in Largo at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, for a report of riders stranded on a ride. A daring rescue in Maryland ended with a horse safely back on its feet after it fell nearly 10 feet into a pit Thursday morning, Aug. 14, officials said. Crews were called to the 13300 block of Old Hanover Road in Reisterstown around 7:20 a.m. for a confined space animal rescue, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. A former employee of Southern States Cooperative, Inc., Roger Bentley, has been convicted at trial in connection with the 2024 Sterling home explosion that claimed the life of Firefighter Trevor Brown.
