Tree Falls On Truck Towing Golf Cart, Traps Driver In Rhinebeck A driver was rescued after a large tree fell on their truck in Dutchess County, pinning them inside.  The incident happened around 7:13 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, on Mount Rutsen Road near River Road in Rhinebeck, according to the Rhinebeck Fire Department.  Emergency crews responding to the scene found a pickup truck towing a trailer carrying a golf cart when a large tree came down onto the vehicle and trailer, causing significant damage. The branch fell near Sussex Road and Churchill Road around 8:03 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, according to a release from the Teaneck Police Department. Tree Falls On Moving Car In Monsey A driver was injured when a tree fell on their moving vehicle in Rockland County on Tuesday, June 10. The incident happened in Monsey during the day on Tuesday, when a tree fell on a car by the intersection of West Maple Avenue and Saddle River Road, The Monsey Scoop reported.  Video from the scene posted on social media by The Monsey Scoop showed the vehicle with front-end damage from the impact.  Both Spring Hill EMS and Ramapo Police responded to the scene.  The incident resulted in minor injuries.

Tree Falls, Hits Car On Taconic State Parkway In Putnam Valley A driver was injured after a tree fell onto their vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam County.  The incident happened on Friday, March 21 at around 10:45 a.m., when a tree fell from the western shoulder and hit a car driving in the southbound lanes near the Mahopac and Putnam Valley line, according to New York State Police Trooper Krystal Paolicelli.  The driver suffered minor injuries, Paolicelli said.  More information was not immediately available.

Feet Away From Death: Massive Tree Crushes Truck In Westport A Connecticut driver narrowly escaped death after a tree fell on his truck on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, authorities said.  The massive tree collapsed onto the truck just after 6:40 a.m. on Easton Road, Westport Police said.  The driver was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries, but images of the wreck show how things could have been much worse.   The tree collapsed the bed of the truck and smashed the sunroof, just a few feet from the cab. Police closed that portion of Easton Road for a few hours as crews cleared the tree and truck off the pavement.
