Authorities report that a Hudson Valley man has been charged with felony criminal mischief after a graffiti spree caused over $25,000 in damages to more than 29 public and private properties, including historic landmarks and local businesses.
According to Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry Thoelen, Kevin Herrera, age 30, of Middletown, was charged on Wednesday, Jan. 1, following an investigation into the incidents, which began on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024.

A Brick Township man admitted to recording children performing sexual acts for him in video chats, authorities said.
Christopher Budelman, 37, pleaded guilty on Friday, Oct. 4 to two counts of sexual assault, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Alberto Lopez-Abreu, 18, and his accomplice, Jacob R. Guttierrez, 20, both of New York City, were arrested Friday, Dec. 7, after Greenwich Police were called to the Verizon Wireless store for a possible fraudulent activity, Greenwich Police said.
