CVS Closing Hundreds Of Stores Across US CVS says it will close 271 retail locations across the country by the end of the year. The company — the world’s second-largest healthcare provider — announced the move to stockholders late last week as part of an enterprise-wide restructuring plan. The goal, CVS says, is to simplify the organization, improve efficiency, and generate more than $500 million in cost savings in 2025. CVS has not yet released which stores will be affected or when closures will take place. The company currently operates around 9,100 stores across the US. Man Hit, Killed Running Across I-95 In West Haven ID'd As 41-Year-Old A 41-year-old man was struck and killed while attempting to run across Interstate 95 in West Haven early Thursday morning, police said. Suniel Michael Ross, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, died after being hit in the center median of I-95 near Exit 43 just before 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, according to Connecticut State Police. Ross crossed the southbound lanes without incident and leaped over the center barrier, which startled a driver in the left northbound lane, causing them to slam on the brakes. Man Tricked, Abused Women To Work As Prostitutes Throughout Northeast: Feds A Rhode Island man who pleaded guilty to coercing multiple women to work as prostitutes and using violence to keep them in line will spend 18 years in prison, federal authorities said.  Ronald Hall, 48, of Woonsocket, admitted in August to the near decade-long operation and pleaded guilty to four counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and one count of transportation of an individual to engage in prostitution, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. In addition to the 18 years behind bars, Hall must also pay restitution to his victims. A judge will set that amount later.…
